Lot 428:
Antique Moroccan Safi Turquoise Glazed Pottery Vase, Signed Arabic Base
Description
Moroccan Safi turquoise glazed pottery vase, signed underneath in Arabic script, decorated in Persian Kashan / Raqqa Islamic Revival style with black linework, green foliage, aubergine floral accents, palmettes, dotted details, and geometric triangular borders. The vase has a baluster body, flared neck, small applied handles, and vivid turquoise glaze over a red earthenware body. The red clay body, glaze pooling, crazing, and free workshop execution strongly support Safi Morocco production, while the decoration evokes earlier Persian Kashan, Raqqa, and Islamic turquoise-glazed ceramics.
Dimensions: 10.5 inches H x 7 W.
