Description
Important oil on board by Frank ( Franz ) Hans Johnston Titled Early in Spring signed lower left in red. Artist’s studio label verso. Housed in original frame. This special work showcases one of the rarer subjects for Johnston, depicting a horse and wagon with father and son, with house and trees in the distance. Likely painted in Quebec circa 1930’s.
Dimensions: board measures 16 inches H x 20 W, frame measures 21 x 25 inches.
Condition: Some shrinkage to paint.
