Description

Rectangular Russian Orthodox icon depicting Christ the Savior in frontal half-length, right hand raised in blessing and left holding the globus cruciger (orb surmounted by a cross), visible through a shaped aperture in the metal cover. 

The icon is fitted with a repousse and chased metal oklad (riza), richly ornamented with scrolling foliate motifs and stylized drapery. A
Reverse with plain wooden backing board and iron suspension ring; handwritten notation visible.
