Description
A grouped lot of three miniature Imperial Russian Orthodox icons and silver oklads (rizas), all struck in the 84 zolotnik standard (.875 silver) and produced in Moscow during the 19th century.
The first is a dated 1846 icon of Christ Pantocrator, bearing the 84 standard and maker’s mark A.K., with repoussé silver cover over a painted wooden panel. The second is a mid-19th century silver oklad with maker’s mark C.K., finely engraved with haloed saint and niello-style ground; the underlying painted panel shows significant deterioration, with value residing primarily in the silver mount. The third depicts St. Sergius of Radonezh, late 19th century, with 84 silver oklad and Cyrillic maker’s mark (appearing “СР” or similar), retaining a well-preserved painted panel beneath.
