Chinese Famille Rose Baluster Vase with Bird-and-Rooster Scenes, Late Qing / Republic
Description
Baluster-form famille rose vase painted with lush bird-and-floral landscapes, phoenix and rooster motifs, and framed scenic cartouches. Applied qilin-style handles at the neck. Old label to base; rim with visible crack. Rebuild and restoration to rim, with repainting.
Porcelain with hand-painted famille rose enamels; continuous bird, floral, and riverbank scenes, with decorative borders and cartouche panels. Applied molded animal-form handles. Unglazed footrim with collector’s label; interior rim crack and age-related glaze wear. Height approx. 11.5 inches. Late Qing to early Republic period (c. 1900-1930).
