Description
Jean Prouve (1901-1984) Attributed Wood Tripod Stool / Tabouret dit Solvay. 17.5 inches H x 13.5 W.
Provenance: Private collection Paris, France. Beech and Steel, Designed circa 1941. Reference: Jean Prouve: Complete Works by Peter Sulzer. Volume II, page 282 shows the elevation and plan for the model which has since been coined the ‘Solvay’ Stool because of its connection to the designs for the Etablissments Solvay in France. Reference Plan 9006, three legged model made by Les Atelier J. Prouve.
Condition: Likely refinished at some point.
