Catalog Note:

Jean Prouvé’s celebrated Potence lighting designs rank among the most recognizable icons of twentieth-century French modernism. Characterized by projecting cantilevered arms and a rigorous engineering aesthetic, these fixtures embody Prouve’s belief that form should arise directly from function and structure. Related Potence models are published in Peter Sulzer’s Jean Prouve: Complete Works and in Galerie Patrick Seguin’s scholarly publications devoted to the designer’s work.
