Description

Henri Hebert (Canadian, 1884-1950) Bronze Sculpture of a Flapper, C. 1927, depicting a standing nude female figure in a stylized Art Deco pose with hands on her hips and bobbed hair, capturing the iconic 1920s flapper aesthetic. The bronze sits on an integrated, ribbed circular base, and exhibits a well-preserved, rich surface patina.

Modeled in 1927, the piece is a key example of Henri Hebert’s transition from classical academic art into early Canadian modernism. The physical model for the sculpture is documented as Cecile Perron, a close friend of the artist.

With certificate of appraisal, measuring 19.5 inches H x 7 W.
