Description
A Pair of French Restauration / Louis-Philippe Period Silver-Plated Food Warmers (Chauffe-Plats) by Charles Balaine (Paris, active 1827-1844). Stamped C. Balaine A Paris alongside the master silversmith’s cartouche mark (CB flanking emblem/cricket) and Metal Double / silver-plating designations. A matched pair of chauffe-plats complete with matching domed cloche covers, polished lid surmounted by an elegant, cast intertwining ribbon or knot-motif loop handle.
