Description
Chinese large watercolor and ink painting on silk showing scholars, wise men and teachers with what appears to be two students in the centre, the figures are set in a garden landscape with trees and a building with mountain landscape in the background, with script in the upper right that reads – Poetry and books are passed down, Year of Fire-Pig (1887) Mid-Autumn, Shangxing the Retired Scholar painted this in the pavilion – and artist’s chop mark in red reading Zheng Yin, set in ebonized faux bamboo wood frame, 20th century. Frame measures 43 inches H x 19 W.
