Description

A 19th-century French monstrance, also known as an ostensorium, with sterling silver luna, hallmarked with minerva.

It features a sunburst design, commonly known as a Gloria, designed to hold a consecrated Host for Eucharistic adoration in the luna. 
The vessel is ornate, featuring intricate Baroque or neo-Gothic elements, decorated with cherub heads, sheaths of wheat and grapes and a lamb of God motif. 
Monstrances are sacred vessels used in Roman Catholic, Old Catholic, and Anglican churches. 
Complete with original storage case or box. 
Dimensions: 24 inches H x 12 W x 5.5 deep.
