Original French World War I poster titled “Journée de Paris – Au Profit des Oeuvres de Guerre de l’Hôtel de Ville – 14 Juillet 1917”, illustrated by Francisque Poulbot (1879-1946).
The composition depicts a young Parisian girl seated in profile, tenderly holding a small soldier doll, with a black poodle at her side. The imagery combines patriotic symbolism and childhood innocence, typical of Poulbot’s celebrated depictions of Parisian children.
Published by Éditeur Imp. H. Chachoin, 108 Rue Folie-Méricourt, Paris. The poster was issued in support of wartime relief efforts organized by the Hôtel de Ville.
