18th C Sevres France Porcelain Coffee Can and Saucer, Classical Scene
Description
18th C Antique Sevres France Porcelain Coffee Can and Saucer, with Classical Scene on green ground and gilt interior. Classical scene depicting a nude female with staff of Asclepius, possibly Hygieia. Restoration to rim of saucer, some loss to gilding. With Early Vincennes porcelain mark, two interlaced Ls in blue glaze. These marks were generally used from 1740 – 1753, though they were occasionally used after this date. Saucer measures 5 inches diameter, can measures 2.5 inches H x 2.5 W, with handle 3.25 W.
