Antique oil painting on panel, a copy of the work known as Portrait of an Old Man with a Beard, which has been widely attributed to the Dutch master Rembrandt van Rijn.
The original work, or "study head, " was created around 1630 during the Dutch Golden Age of painting.
The painting is noted for its use of chiaroscuro (strong contrast of light and dark) and detailed texture in the beard and skin. Unframed, measures 14.5 x 11 inches W.
