Finely cast solid bronze figure of Narcissus, depicted nude with a mantle draped over the left arm, standing in graceful contrapposto on an integral circular base. Modeled after the celebrated Narcissus of Pompeii, the sculpture displays sensitive modeling of the youthful body and a deep variegated green patina with areas of dark oxidation and encrustation consistent with age. A classic Grand Tour reduction reflecting the neoclassical fascination with ancient Roman art.
