This is an original WWII Japanese officer parade saber from World War II. The blade and mountings are in excellent condition. The blade is 28.25 inches long and has fuller grooves the entire length of the blade on both sides. The blade shows an etched gunome hamon along its length. The sword is in overall excellent condition showing a couple very small micro nicks, and some scratches along its length. The mountings are in excellent condition. the scabbard shows a couple of small dents and few areas of missing finish. The handle shows a nice patina and the grip shows all of the wire wrappings present. There is also emblem of the police on the back strap. Circa 1940. Rack not included.
