Lot 299:
Venini Murano, signed, Carlo Scarpa Bullicante Red Glass Vide Poche
Description
A small, thick-walled Murano glass bowl or vide-poche produced by Venini, circa mid-20th century, and attributed to a design by Carlo Scarpa. The softly squared form is enlivened by regularly arranged air-bubble inclusions characteristic of the bullicante technique, creating a sense of depth and movement within the glass.
Scarpa’s collaboration with Venini from 1932 to 1947 produced some of the firm’s most innovative designs, transforming traditional Murano techniques through sculptural forms, rich colour and controlled internal effects.
Acid-etched to the underside “Venini / Murano / Italia.”
Dimensions: 3.5 × 3.5 × 1.5 in. (8.9 × 8.9 × 3.8 cm).
Condition: Minor surface wear consistent with age and use; condition report available upon request."
