Description
THE SIMON CHANG COLLECTION – A Chinese antique small satin three part letter case, the outside in a deep purple satin, the inside showing richly embroidered in silk on red, pink and lighter purple satin, stylized floral designs showing insects and butterfly, these letter cases were used by men to hold letters or small documents and vertically folded into three and were often tucked down the side of their boots, circa late Qing dynasty late 19th – early 20th century. Measuring 10 inches L x 5 W.
