Description
Large decorative horse sculpture attributed to Italian Designer Gio Ponti, rendered in an elegant stylized form inspired by classical and modernist design traditions. Constructed in plaster and finished to imitate dark carved wood, the figure is characterized by its elongated proportions, arched neck, and geometric mane and tail details. The sculpture displays a strong architectural quality typical of Italian mid-century decorative arts. Repairs noted to the face.
