17th C David Teniers the Younger, oil on panel, Portrait of a woman wearing a dark gown with a prominent white lace-edged collar and a black head covering with a flower and her puppy. The painting features the artist’s monogram, DT, in the lower right corner. F, stamps and seals on the back, Fideikommiss Wesendonck. 

David Teniers II (1610-1690) was a prolific Flemish genre painter who achieved international fame during his lifetime. He served as the court painter and curator for Archduke Leopold Wilhelm of Austria. While he is most famous for his scenes of peasant life and taverns, he was a versatile artist who also produced highly regarded landscapes, history paintings, and portraits.
