Description
A Three Gallon F.B. Norton Pottery Crock of Worcester, Massachusetts, dating to the late 19th century.
The pottery was established in 1858 by Franklin Blackmer Norton, who moved from his family’s famous pottery business in Bennington, Vermont. The firm operated under a few different names:
F.B. Norton & Co. (1858-1876): A partnership between Norton and Frederick Hancock.
F.B. Norton & Sons (1877-1885/1894): Transitioned after the partnership with Hancock ended and Norton’s sons joined the business.
