Description

A late 19th to early 20th C framed religious print depicting Our Lady of Good Counsel (Mater Boni Consilii), a popular Marian devotion in the Catholic Church. The image shows the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child, both with golden halos, often characterized by the tender way the Child rests His face against Mary’s. 


Origin: The original fresco of Our Lady of Good Counsel is located in the town of Genazzano, Italy, near Rome. It dates back to at least the 5th century. 
Patronage: This title of Mary is the patroness of the Vatican Observatory and her feast day is celebrated on April 26th. 
Dimensions: frame measures 23 x 27 inches.
