A finely painted 19th-century Continental porcelain miniature depicting a young boy, executed in a sentimental style inspired by the work of Jean-Baptiste Greuze. Presented in a later giltwood oval frame with a wheat-sheaf motif.

Provenance: Private collection
Condition: Minor surface wear consistent with age. The porcelain image appears well preserved; frame with light wear.

Throughout the 19th century, the sentimental genre scenes and child portraits of Jean-Baptiste Greuze were widely admired and frequently adapted by European decorative arts workshops.
