Gustave Brisgand (1867-1944) was a French artist known for his portraits and drawings of female figures. He was a prolific artist who used various mediums, including oils, crayon, and pastel.
Born in Paris in 1867 and deceased in Saint-Mandé in 1944, Brisgand resided in France throughout his life and enjoyed a long career.
Style and Subject: He specialized in depicting youthful female models, often in seductive reclining poses. He was even referred to as "the technician of the woman’s figure" by American reporters. His work is associated with the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles.
