Description
An 18th C antique Tibetan thangka painting depicting the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara (also known as Chenresi), mounted in a traditional dark silk brocade scroll featuring multi-armed deity standing inside a glowing, fiery halo with smaller seated deity figures positioned in the corners and upper registers. 37.5 x 26 W including handles, image measures 19.5 H x 12 inches W. Some loss and restoration to paint, tears to surrounding mounting.
