Chinese Carved Figure of a Maiden, Late Qing Dynasty
Description
An antique Chinese carved figure depicting an elegant court lady or celestial maiden standing in a graceful, slightly swayed contrapposto pose. The figure is delicately sculpted wearing flowing traditional robes with long, voluminous sleeves and a decorative sash tied at her waist. The sculpture is mounted securely upon a dark hardwood stepped plinth base. Dimensions: Total Height: 8.25 inches (approx. 21 cm) Base Width: 2.75 inches. Repair noted to the neck.
