Claude Monod (French, 1944-1990) Studio blown glass vase featuring intercalary decorations, coloured inclusions and metallic oxides trapped between layers of glass. Signed on base, Cl. Monod 85-7-18.

Claude Monod was the son of Eloi Monod, who founded the famous Biot glassworks in the South of France. Claude and his wife, Isabelle Monod, were central figures in the revival of independent glass workshops in Europe during the 1970s and 80s.
