Description
A 19th C fine dining fish service featuring a large, elongated fish-serving platter, an underplated sauce or gravy boat, and a coordinated set of 12 individual plates (four not pictured). Decorated with hand-painted freshwater fish (like pike and carp) resting in underwater habitats filled with water lilies and aquatic grasses. The scalloped rims are accented with rich gilding and embossed detailing. Platter measures 23 inches L x 9 W x 2 H, gravy boat measures 9 inches L x 5 W x 4 H. Plates measure 8.25 inches diameter. Marked on underside under glaze, impressed marks. Two plates have chips.
