Alexander Francis Dunlop Montreal Street Scene Oil Painting 1860s
Description
Alexander Francis Dunlop (Montreal, Canada, 1842 – 1923) very rare oil on thin masonite of what is possibly a Montreal street scene, possibly Old Montreal, signed with initials AFD lower left, and also signed on back in pencil Alexander F. Dunlop, also showing older writing below gouache covering on back, set in custom made ebonized and gilt frame. Alexander Dunlop is best know for his architecture work around Montreal including designing St. James United Church on St. Catherine Street, and parts of McGill University.
Dimensions: Masonite measures 10.25 inches H x 7.25 W, frame measures 18 inches H x 14.5 W.
