Kidney-form desk inspired by the celebrated David-Weill desk designed by Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann circa 1918-1919. Executed as a highly detailed vintage theatrical prop, the desk is constructed of wood and plaster with a finely painted trompe-l’oeil finish simulating richly figured exotic veneers and ivory inlays characteristic of the original Art Deco masterpiece. Faithfully capturing the elegant proportions and sculptural silhouette of Ruhlmann’s iconic design, the desk features three functional drawers, a well as trompe l’oeil drawers, and demonstrates exceptional attention to detail throughout.
