Italian School, 19th Century Miniature Portrait Painting of the Madonna, after the Renaissance

Finely executed miniature depicting the bust of the Virgin Mary with head gently inclined upward, wearing a blue mantle over a red tunic and a delicately tooled gilt halo. Housed beneath a convex glass within a gilt metal bezel and later ebonized wood frame. The reverse retains an old handwritten manuscript page.
Overall dimensions: 8.9 × 8.7 cm.
Overall good condition with light wear consistent with age.
