Description
THE SIMON CHANG COLLECTION – A Chinese antique purple and white satin drawstring purse, both sides with a tent stitch pattern done with metal threading and with raised floral design, woven green tassels and string to hang from a girdle belt ring worn over a robe, circa Qing dynasty early 19th century. These purses were used to hold aromatic herbs or scented cotton, some claiming even poison. Measuring 4 inches W x 3 H.
