THE SIMON CHANG COLLECTION – A Chinese antique small satin three part letter case, the outside in navy blue satin, the inside showing richly embroidered in silk on purple, green, orange and magenta, stylized floral designs showing insects and butterfly, the centre section also with an outside pocket and support band and unique embroidered scorpion design, these letter cases were used by men to hold letters or small documents and vertically folded into three and were often tucked down the side of their boots, circa late Qing dynasty late 19th – early 20th century.
