Description

A Chinese Famille Verte / Chinoiserie baluster-form porcelain vase converted into a table lamp, dating from the Republic Period (1912-1949). The porcelain body is hand-painted in vibrant polychrome enamel overglaze with a traditional famille verte motif depicting a pair of peacocks perched among blooming peony branches and stylized rockwork. Originally purchased From Gurie Gallery in 1975. Restoration to back of vase. Vase measures 14 inches H, lamp measures 25 inches H x 16 W.
