Large and Impressive Carved Alabaster Sculpture Intertwined Eagles on Column Pedestal
Description
A late 19th or early 20th-century carved alabaster sculptural group depicting two intertwined eagles in dynamic poses. The figures display finely detailed plumage, sweeping wingspans, and distinctive inlaid red marble eyes. The sculpture rests securely upon its original, matching turned alabaster column pedestal, which is accented by classic carved moldings and a fluted, decorative base. Eagles measuring 22 in. H x 26 in. W, column measures 37 in. H x 17 W, total height 59 inches. The eagles are removable from the base, which has a pivoting top.
