Mid-19th Century Copeland Porcelain Part Dessert Service (Pattern 8966)
Description
A fine English bone china partial dessert service by W.T. Copeland (Staffordshire, England, circa 1850). The set features an apple-green border overlaid with elaborate, bright Rococo revival scroll gilding. Each piece is accented with an individually hand-painted central vignette depicting unique, idyllic British pastoral landscape views. Set composed of two oval and two rectangular footed serving plates (12 inches L x 9 W x 2.5 H), three round footed serving plates (9.5 inches diameter x 2.5H-one plate has been restored), 18 dessert plates measuring 9 inches diameter (4 have been restored). Some loss to gilding.
