A mid-century modern Venetian art glass centrepiece set, comprising a pedestal bowl and ten (10) coordinating pieces of sculpted art glass fruit attributed to Cenedese / Barbini. Every piece is executed using the highly specialized scavo (textured / excavation) technique. The centrepiece features a clean modernist pedestal form supporting a shallow, wide lip with an assortment of ten life-sized scavo glass fruits, including pears, apples, and related flora, detailed with attached stems and clear glass leaves attributed to prominent Murano studios such as Gino Cenedese or Alfredo Barbini. Bowl measures 7.5 inches H x 16 W, fruits measure approximately 6 inches.

Note: Scavo (excavation) technique is a complex hot-chemical application that creates a beautifully weathered, matte, and frosted texture designed to simulate the look of ancient Roman glass unearthed from archaeological sites.
