Antique Indian Sterling silver wedding belt, historically worn by brides in Southern India constructed from multiple strands of tightly hand-woven or braided high-grade silver wire, providing structural flexibility to drape over a bridal saree or lehenga. The ornate central buckle / centerpiece acts as a prominent screw-secured clasp. It features highly detailed repoussé work. Approximately 28 inches total circumference. 2.25 inches at highest point. Approximately 391 grams. Tested.
