Description
THE SIMON CHANG COLLECTION – Chinese antique Export Mandarin fan, finely painted in gouache with numerous figures, each with applied painted faces, with buildings and trees, surrounded by floral borders with eternal knots, the black lacquered handle painted with gilt figures within a courtyard surrounded by a scroll border and butterfly and flora, Qing Dynasty, Daoguang period, circa 1850, provenance – purchased in Hong Kong in 1989, mounted in a plexiglass display case (can be removed if one wishes).
Dimensions: Mounted in lucite box measuring 24 inches L x 15.5 H x 2 deep, fan measures 11 inches H x 20 W in current position.
