A lobed Japanese Satsuma bowl, c. Meiji period, featuring a thousand faces design depicting Buddhist immortals or figures. It is characterized by intricate gold gilding over a brown or trellis ground with a maker’s mark on the base, Shimazu clan mark with attributed mark of Yasui.
