Antique The Gibson L-1 Archtop Acoustic Guitar C. 1916
Description
Antique vintage The Gibson L-1 archtop acoustic guitar, manufactured in 1916, Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Serial number in sound hole, 26270. This model is recognized by its small body size, round soundhole, and "trapeze" style tailpiece with Bakelite tortoise pick guard.
Early models from this era are considered pioneering examples of Gibson’s carved-top design.
Imported to Montreal from a dealer and teacher with the last name Levert.
Several repairs to body, including a crack that has been stabilized.
Dimensions: 38 inches L, body measures 19 inches L x 14 W, neck measures 23.5 inches L.
