Pair of 18th Century etchings of Cairo titled – Perspective du Vieux Caire / View of Old Cairo, and Vue des Pyramides, proche du Caire, telles quelles se presentent a Atter Ennabi, ou la grande Mosquee de Deiretiin / View of the Pyramids, close to Cairo, as they appear in Atter Ennabi, or the Great Mosque of Deiretiin, after the artist Naval Captain Frederik Ludvig Norden (1708 – 1742) Denmark, engraved by Markus Tuscher (1705 – 1751) Denmark-Germany, from the original English publication titled The antiquities, natural history, ruins and other curiosities of Egypt, Nubia and Thebes, published London, 1780, the original drawings done in 1737 when Norden visited Egypt, set in ebonized wood frames with deep wine colour inner border and grey matting with matching wine colour inner trim.
Dimensions: Images measure 9.5 inches H x 16 W within matting, frames measure 15 x 21 inches.
