After the silver gelatin on glass by Donald Baxter MacMillan, Polar Bear on drift ice
Oil on canvas depicting a polar bear navigating a dramatic Arctic landscape. The composition is painted after the original photo taken between 1913 and 1917. The present work appears to have been laid down on board and may have been trimmed at some point in its history. It is apparently unsigned, not examined out of frame. It is presented in an ornate gilt frame.
Dimensions: 16 x 19.5 inches, framed to 21 x 25 inches
