Early William Moorcroft Powder-blue Monochrome Vase, Shape M2, Burslem, c.1915-1925
Description
Impressed MOORCROFT / BURSLEM, painted W. Moorcroft signature, and impressed M2shape mark. A compact long-necked form with rounded body and flared rim, covered in a soft powder-blue glaze with subtle tonal variation and fine age-consistent crazing. The absence of Made in England and Royal Warrant marks supports an early production date, before later factory marking conventions became standardized. A quiet, form-led example of early Moorcroft, distinguished by its restrained glaze surface and desirable early Burslem markings.
