Description
Oil on canvas barn scene titled Where is the rat? by the 19th-century British artist George Armfield Smith (1808-1893). The painting depicts a genre scene of terriers in a barn setting. Armfield was known for specializing in paintings of domestic dogs, often terriers engaged in ratting or hunting scenes.
With old label on stretcher, signed on front, lower left.
Dimensions: 16 inches H x 24 W, frame measures 26 x 34 inches.
