Lot 9:
1959 MCM Carol Grenon Pottery on Teak Plaque
Description
Mid-Century Modern (MCM) Canadian studio pottery c.1959 by Carol Grenon, a notable artist often associated with the vibrant ceramic scene in Montreal during the 1950s and 60s. Carol Grenon was known for her whimsical, stylized figures, often depicted in everyday scenes, like the group at a bus stop. Her work frequently combined incised ceramics with warm wood backgrounds, specifically teak, which was a hallmark of high-end MCM design.
