Description

A finely executed devotional portrait of Pope Pius X, rendered as a woven silk image in an oval format. The pontiff is depicted in traditional papal attire, including white cassock and red mozzetta, with the inscription “S.S. Pius X Pont. Max.” below, accompanied by papal insignia.

The image is executed in colored silk threads, creating a subtle textured surface and soft tonal transitions characteristic of early 20th-century Jacquard weaving techniques. 
The textile is presented within a decorative gilt frame with molded foliate corner elements and a gold-toned mat, enhancing its devotional and decorative appeal.
