Description

A Napoleon III period monumental cup or decorative urn, likely dating to around 1880. It features a combination of high-end materials and techniques typical of the period, including: 

Onyx and Gilt Bronze: The body of the urn and the pedestal are crafted from onyx, accented with finely chased gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts. 
Enamel Decoration: The decorative bands on the neck and the crest on the pedestal feature polychrome champleve enamels. 
Design Elements: The urn is flanked by scroll-shaped gilt bronze handles and rests on a square pedestal supported by claw feet.
Dimensions: 13 inches H x 7 W.
Condition: Some loss to enamel on lid, one foot is loose.
