Pair of embossed prints (often referred to as estampilles or blind embossings) by the Hungarian-born French artist Etienne Hajdu (1907-1996). Known primarily as a sculptor, Hajdu developed this unique printmaking technique to translate his abstract, undulating relief sculptures into two-dimensional paper forms. 


Artistic Style and Technique
Blind Embossing: inkless intaglios, using pressure to raise the design directly from heavy handmade paper. 
Subject Matter: His designs often feature abstract, sinuous contours inspired by nature, floral motifs, or the human form. 
Signature: Hand-signed in pencil, Hajdu") one dedicated in lower right corner, dated 1969, other dated Noel 1963.
Dimensions: Papers measure 10 inches H x 6.5 W, frames measure 17.5 x 11.5 inches.
