Description

Carved wooden standing figure rendered in a stylized and elongated form, reflecting sculptural traditions associated with the Guro or Senufo peoples of Côte d’Ivoire. The figure stands on two arched legs supporting a compact torso and cylindrical neck, surmounted by a carved head with a pronounced projecting nose and simplified facial features. The head is topped with a stepped coiffure, while the arms are reduced to slender forms extending downward along the sides of the body.
